The positive economics have been delivered in part due to the good regional infrastructure with access, power and water available.
Power will be supplied from the 33kV overhead line from ZESCO (the Zambia state electricity company). Sufficient power is available to meet the plant requirement of approximately 2MW as well as additional power for mining operations. A 1,200kVA emergency generator has been included in the plant design to ensure the milling circuit and subsequent operations can operate in the case power interruptions occur.
A 8-km haul road between Matala and the Dunrobin Mill will need to be established, and in addition the Dunrobin haul road will require rehabilitation.
